Cans for Camp is our way of giving back to the community.   Since 2007, Afrim’s Sports has been working in conjunction with Regional Food Bank to collect food for donation in Upstate New York.  Afrim’s Sports offers Cans for Camp to our customers and the Capital District, a full day of our Action Camp for $5.  Each participant is required to bring in at least 5 cans of food a piece and $5.  All money and food collected will be donated to the Regional Food Bank. In 2007, we raised over 900 lbs. of food. In 2008, we raised 735 lbs of food and $700. In Nov. 2009, we raised 803 lbs and $699. Our goal for April 2010 is to raise 1000 lbs of food and make a monetary donation to the Regional Food Bank.    On April 9, 2010, we are having a can collection competition where the camper who brings in the most food will be awarded one FREE week of Action Camp, compliments of our staff here at Afrim’s Sports.  If a camper chooses, he/she could even gather pledges from friends and family.  Each $1 donated will count as 1 can of food toward the can collection competition.  All food and money collected by campers will be donated to the Regional Food Bank just in time for Thanksgiving!!   Cost of Camp:  $5 for the full day and 5 cans (all money and food goes to the Food Bank)   Call our facility at 518-438-3131 or email camps@afrimsports.com for more information.
